Headshot for Eduardo Moncada

On February 1, 2022, the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation announced that Eduardo Moncada, assistant professor of political science, has been selected as 2022 Harry Frank Guggenheim (HFG) Distinguished Scholar, which includes an award formerly known as the Harry Frank Guggenheim Research Grant. The award recognizes leading researchers whose work enhances our understanding of the causes, manifestations, and control of violence and aggression, with a priority placed on scholarship that deals with urgent, present-day problems.
The Foundation supports research that investigates violence as it relates to a wide range of subject areas, including, but not limited to, war, crime, terrorism, family and intimate-partner relationships, racial/ethnic/religious conflict, political extremism and nationalism.
Moncada’s award-winning research focuses on state responses to collective vigilantism in New York City and Mexico City.
